Session 22
May 8
We were really looking forward to this microteaching! And today is the day!
Sofia and Nathalia were faithful to the method in their micro teaching. According to Gardner (1993), there are eight native “intelligences,” which they divided each activity using these "intelligences":
Musical: we listened a song about touring around the world, it was a fast rythem song, we had to complete some gaps and also interpret the meaning in some cases
Kinesthetic: in the stage we had to do mimics about stereotypes around the world, we had to be creative and coordinate in order to be understood.
Linguistic: they tested our ability in language in a very creative way, we had to order some words to form sentences, and then relate the sentence to a country. Very fun.
Logical: an Einstein riddle was perfect. We had to think rationally in order to complete this exercise.
They handled very well the micro teaching, they had everyone focused and the best thing of all is that we were encouraged to develop our potential at each stage. It was beautiful, they proved to us that learning can goes beyond text books
Although it was only four stages/activities, they were able to make us develop every single intelligence. I mean, Interpersonal and Intrapersonal were necessary in each activity, since we need to work in groups in order to achieve certain activity.
All in all, we agreed that it was our favorite micro teaching so far, it was amazing, because they did a wonderful job. The materials were beautiful, they were very clear when giving instructions, they developed a unique proposal to this no-syllabus method.
